Hi John, Just received the bangle and delighted with the beautiful engraving. So good that the art is being kept alive! My immediate reaction to it was that I was looking at a piece of fine regency silver rather than a very modest bit of sterling ‘silver’!

Engraved my initial on my signet ring excellent service and was done same day.

Took a silver bracelet to be engraved with my Dad’s hand writing. John said he would do it same day. The engraving is beautiful. And John is such a lovely person. I have no hesitation in recommending John and his skill.

John did a beautiful job of engraving a dog tag type necklace for my son with the dates of birth of people important to him. It was a lot of information on a very small tag and looked beautiful. And so speedy! 45 minutes from the time we dropped it off. Highly recommend his craftsmanship.

After a recent bereavement I wanted to have a bracelet engraved for my grandaughter to be buried in.

Everywhere I tried said it needed someone who specialises in hand engraving and several of them told me of John Dearden. I needed it doing quite urgently and was very impressed with John’s empathy and willingness to fit me in under my extremely sad circumstances.

I was given excellent directions and found John in the Royal Exchange easily. The engraving was beautiful and perfectly done and I was able to collect in less than an hour. Would recommend to all who require someone who excels in hand engraving.

I was over the moon when I found John, I had bought a watch for my husband and I wanted to have his mum’s handwriting engraved onto the side as she had recently passed away. I had no luck at other places i had tried and when I stumbled across John, I didn’t a) assume I’d get a response because the shop would be shut and b) have much hope that he would complete the work for me, because none of the other places I’d tried would touch something they hadn’t made themselves. Anyway – from the moment I contacted John it was a pleasure, I explained what and why I wanted the work done, he was sympathetic and professional and took on the job with no issue. He was working from home due to the pandemic so we arranged a date and time and I dropped of the watch, and the handwriting sample, contact free, (I was even offered coffee whilst I waited in the car!) and the work was done in less than an hour. Hi John, I just wanted to get in touch regarding the great service I received from Mark today. I was on a very tight schedule to get some wedding presents engraved for some overseas friends. I literally bought them today and could not find anywhere to do the engraving quickly without a few days wait or mail order service. I fly out in the morning so needed a quick turnaround service.

Mark was extremely patient and helpful, and the finished products are great. It was 16:00 hrs and he still accepted and did the engraving for me on multiple items. His dedication to the customer is much of a rarity nowadays. Your service is one of a kind, I couldn’t find anything similar at Selfridges, John Lewis or Harvey Nicks. It adds a personal touch without the inconvenience of waiting days. The few hours that Mark dedicated to engraving my silverware today will bring many years of happy memories to my newly wed friends. I had some watch parts engraved here for a watch I’m making. I sent them in by post with instructions enclosed. The instructions were followed to the letter and the quality of engraving was superb, done in a specific font I specified and on some very delicate watch parts. Communication was fantastic, the watch was well packaged when sent back to me and the parts are now back on my watch and look great. I’m very happy with the workmanship and will no doubt use them again.

Last month I decided to make my Nanna a new wedding band. Over the last few months she must have been thinking about it a lot because she had relived the heartache of losing her original band to me multiple times during the lockdown. She had lost it some time after my grandad had passed away and hoped it would turn up in their old house but it was never found when she moved out.

I don’t remember her original ring because I must have been quite young, but I wanted something which had some kind of sentiment to it so that it wasn’t just a gold band. When my grandparents were married in 1960 my Nanna had a signet ring engraved with G.P. to A.S. 31.12.60 for my grandads wedding ring. So I’ve searched high and low for a hand engraver to engrave the initials onto the inside of her band too.

It has just came back today and I am absolutely over the moon with how beautiful it looks! I can’t wait to gift it to my Nanna

John engraved a lovely set of initials onto a metal disc on an antique jewellery box, really making the gift extra special. As well as being a very skilled engraver, John is also a perfect gent and even wrapped my gift on hearing of my inability to wrap the simplest of shapes!

I first met John on my wedding day. I was walking around the store the morning of my wedding day when I had an idea. I thought how wonderful it would be to have two goblets engraved with our initials and the date. I wondered why I hadn’t thought of it before and cursed the fact there was no time to deal with this. John would have none of it. He helped with the selection of glassware and completed the engraving. My wife must have been pleased because almost 30 years later we are still together.

I still rush in at the last minute and John still helps me select a piece of glassware and helps clear my thoughts with a message that relates to something important that has happened in our life in the last year.
